Welcome to Obiter Dictum

Obiter Dictum is latin as you might have guessed. I wanted to call it something like Opinionation or Opinionated, etc. but all those were already taken, so I went looking for the most obscure damn name I could find; I think I succeeded. I wanted to use the .com version, but some Frenchman took that one, so it's .net.

I decided I should have a site devoted to my blogs about life, politics, the world, and whatever the hell else might keep me awake at night. I will try to be informative, accurate, and weave a little humor in where appropriate. I've transferred the last couple I did on my main website - www.irishmikedavis.com - and will eventually phase the blog portion of that site out.

If there's a topic you'd like me to address, then let me know on the Contact page and assuming I have an opinion, or can develop one through research, I'll be happy to give it a go.

You will see that nasty little "DONATE" button all around the site. I need to to generate a little income to augment my ever-shrinking pension income. Trust me, when you get as old as I am, that is an issue. So, if you are able, and find it worthwhile to drop a buck or two or five on me, it will be greatly appreciated. Irish whiskey it's getting expensive.
